Though our lives have drastically changed from the lives of our parents and grandparents, the typical U.S. classroom has managed to look more or less the same. A primary reason for this is due to the fact that education has simply not been able to keep up with the advancements in technology. While opinions differ on why this is the case, one thing is for certain: educators, students and parents alike are realizing that a bright future in education is going to require an investment in technology. Not only can it alter the way students will learn and interact in the classroom, but technological skills are key for today’s students as they go on to find jobs and careers.
This is one trend that the White House has noticed as well. In fact, they launched a new program earlier this year called the “Digital Promise” with one simple goal in mind: to get technology into classrooms. Online Schools illustrated this graphic to stress why technology in education is so imperative and what the “Digital Promise” can bring to the future of education.
