Awesome Advertising on Buses Around the World

I’ve always wondered how buses get enough revenue to keep on moving. I know they charge people for the ride from one place to the next, but I’m sure it can’t be that big of a profit margin. The other day I was talking to a friend who drove buses for a living and he said that the company charges several thousand dollars to sell advertisement spots on a bus. Like a blog that sells advertisement above the fold, the side of a bus is the most valuable, followed by the back of the bus. He said that a full bus advertisement can go in upwards of $100,000 dollars. More than enough money to pay for the bus repairs and the bus driver for a year. The rest of the money is pure profit for the company.

I know my two cent’s about advertisement placement, but really, I just love advertisement images. I constantly look for new ad ideas so I can soak up some inspiration from the advertisement technique, and add it to my own company. If you ask me, some of the best advertisement companies are the ones that can use their surroundings to advertise and get their message across.

The advertising companies from the list at the bottom do a very good job at pointing out what matters the most using specific areas of a bus. They use the tail pipe to show people smoking, or the opening of the door to make people kiss. Overall, they really used their creativity to get their message to the people that matter.

Photos Of The New Electric 2013 DeLorean

The DeLorean was almost dead a while back, but thanks to Back to The Future, the car will never fully die. In 2013, the Delorean will be making a full comeback, here are 9 images of the amazing car, including the “Flux” capacitor box and even an iPhone dock that can take you back to where it all started by playing the soundtrack to one of the best movies ever.

The all electric 260 horse power car has a built in GPS navigation system, and can top off at about 125 hours per hour.

The range of the vehicle is still unclear, but regardless, this is going to be one of the hottest cars in 2013, at least in the geek community.  Regardless of what you think, enjoy the gallery at the bottom. Via Fubiz

Fun Things to Ask the New iPhone 4S Siri

The iPhone 4S was released with a brand new feature, the Siri, which is just a fun toy that actually allows the phone to talk back to you when you ask it a question. If you’ve ever played with Oliver Bot online then you already have some experience with this kind of software, but Appleclaims that this is way more advance and that the phone actually learns to talk to you.

I don’t have an iPhone 4s and i’s very doubtful that I will be getting one in the upcoming weeks, but this sounds like an awesome feature on the phone. From the looks of the pictures we collected, it looks like it has more than just the typical “I don’t Know what you mean?” or the classic program feature that answers your question with a question. You know, the typical “what is the maning of life? – What do YOU think is the meaning of life?”

Joshua Topolsky  has several of other pictures that he collected while he’s in the “reviewing” stages of the phone, check out their site to see some other interesting pictures. These are just some of the ones that we thought were the best.

404 pages are amazing, most people, including our selves are not creative enough to come up with amazing 404 pages, but if you play your cards right you can use your 404 to increase your popularity through your website. These are some of the best pages we found while we searched the internet. Some are amazingly creative while the other ones not so much. Check out the video at the bottom to see a special 404 video.

The following 404 page doesn’t use pictures, instead they use an amazing video of a couple of soldiers being shot down by a rouge 404 page, eventually the page is taken down by the soldiers!

“When a page on this website goes rogue — and a code 404 arises — we dispatch one of our teams to bring it back. Ideally they are able to salvage the missing page, but sometimes, if the page is truly lost, they have to take it out (resulting in the subsequent code 500 when the page gets taken down).”

How did Successful Companies Come up with their Names?

You know, coming up with a company logo can be both frustrating and difficult to accomplish. Not only do you need to create a logo that covers your mission statement, but it also has to incorporate your ideals, your name, and your niche… but… if you thought that coming up with a Logo like Lego on the left was hard… coming up with a company name is a thousand times harder.

For the most part, a company name has to incorporate what you do, for example, Trax Special Investigations  does “special investigations” … it’s on the name. But what if my company name was TSI and it did not have anything else afterwards? people would eventually know what I did by word of mouth, but the name wouldn’t stand a chance against already established and successful companies. So how did Lego, or Sony get the notoriety that they have gained through their success.

At first look, you may think… how did Sony or Ikea come up with a name so popular that it got world wide recognition without the use of an actual word? well… the gallery below will explain where all of the big companies like Ebay, Lego, Sony, Ikea, Kia and so on came up with their awesome short and sweet names. I think you’ll be surprised that most, if not ALL incorporate their “mission statement” or even their “niche” on their name. Like Sony, derived from a Latin word of “Sonus” meaning “sound.”

Belt Buckles Made From Computer Mice

Look, I’m not saying that is a horrible idea. This is probably one of the best “Recycling” project’s I’ve seen in a long time. If you are looking for a way to keep up your pants while also making sure that someone makes a movie about how you are 45 years old and still have not been with a lady, then this is the perfect belt for you.

That picture above is a real working belt made from the old school apple computer mouse. Check out the gallery below to see all the other models and flavors they have. The price range is from $15 to just about $22. But consider your self warned, if you wear this, it’s going to stay on all night regardless of how “sweet” your dance moves are.

9 Bizarre “Love” Hotel Rooms

As a Private Investigator I’ve seen my fair share of Hotel Rooms, everything from $300 dollar per night rooms in San Antonio, down to the $14 per hour hotel rooms in Houston (I didn’t stay there after I heard the price). For the most part, you start to pick out specific things and details about where to stay and where not to stay. Usually when a hotel room has “color tv” on their Advertisement Signs… I stay away from that place and move on to the next town. But, what if the sign said “whips and chains in every room” or “wooden horse with a strap on” … would you try to find out what the hell that’s all about? I’ve heard of Love Hotels, down in the south, they are called Shack Hotels. However, in Japan, they are called “Love” Hotels. There is a big difference between Love, and “Love” as you’re about to find out.

According to Wikipedia, “A love hotel is a type of short-stay hotel found around the world operated primarily for the purpose of allowing couples privacy for sexual activities.” Diana Adams from Bitrebels made a very good point in her article, she said “before you start thinking these are only prostitution rooms, consider this. In many countries, it’s still customary for extended families to live in the same house. If that’s the case, perhaps these rooms are also rented by married couples who just want to have some alone time for a change

At least they get the privacy they are looking for. Everything from the lobby attendant to the bedroom is private.  From my understanding, you can pay through a hole in the wall where the attendant, an elderly woman, can’t see your face. Or… if you are more conscious about your privacy, you can buy a room using a vending machine.

From the looks of the pictures, taken by Misty Keasler, I think the couple has to release more than just a couple of day’s frustration. You are talking about whips, chains, cages… wooden horses… what the heck do you need a wooden horse for!? or even a merry-go-round? one of the rooms even has a cross with chains…. there is another picture that we didn’t include in the article because it’s not SFW-ish so you’ll have to go here to check it out.  Overall, these rooms are kind of crazy, all of them are overseas, so if you want to enjoy one, you’re pretty much SOL.
