Students and their cellphones are inseparable. As a recent graduate myself, I can tell you first-hand that my phone never left my side during my four years of college. And as more students obtain access to better and newer phones, cellphones will continue to play a large role the lives of college students. Beyond just the normal stuff like calling and texting people, students are relying on their phones for all sorts of different reasons.
This graphic by Hack College illustrates a survey taken by college students regarding their cell phone habits. I summed up some pretty eye-opening statistics that I came across while reading the graphic:
– Nearly 94% of students text every day.
– 88% of students have texted during class.
– 40% of students have studied through their phones before a test.
– 23% of them have used their phones to view porn.
