“The Slide” by Simplereach

The Slide by SimpleReach is a free plug-in that we just recently added on our blog, it “slides” a discreet window at the bottom right of the screen after the current article has been read. The slide comes out with a recommendation to read a related post. There are different ways of uploading the slide onto your website, the easiest is perhaps uploading the WordPress plug-in. But don’t worry, the slider has a manual code installation so it works 100% with other websites and services.

The best thing about the slider is that it doesn’t slow down your website at all, since the script loads asynchronously from your site. Additionally, you have your very own dashboard at SimpleReach.com where you can see reports regarding your click through. The slider has the ability to be customized 100% to your likings as long as you have basic coding knowledge.

I’m sure you’ve seen several websites using similar plug-ins, NY Times, and Mashable have made this plug-in very popular, and now with this simple add-on your site can work the same way. The simplereach team has made several improvements to their plug-in to make sure it works just as advertised.

I’ve been using simple reach for a couple of days, and I’ve already had 150 extra views to our pages. Keep in mind that these are NOT new visitors, they are the same visitors visiting other pages, so don’t confuse simplereach slider with an increase number of visits to your page. The slider just makes it easy for your visitors to find a similar articles in your webpage. The best part about the slider is that aside from having the article on the site, it also incorporates Google +1, Facebook Like, and Twitter Tweet buttons to help your content reach a broader audience.

‘The Slide was developed by a team of 4 engineers and 1 business dev person, and it’s quickly gaining popularity amongst the blogging sphere. Based out of New York, the simplereach team is composed of 4 fulltime engineers, one “do it all” and 2 interns. While the Slide is a new product and application,  Simplereach has been working on several other products for well over a year.

According to co-founder, Edward Kim, The Simplereach team has been exploring how they can make content and advertising experiences better on the web. He believes that given their respective backgrounds, they have a real shot at bringing those products to life. They are creating several things right now that are creating some amazing opportunities in the space: personalization based on readily available access. Kim stated that in the future, if everything goes according to plan, they will be able to use fb connect, twitter, and increase the social reach to a broader audience.

They are also in the process of building an ad supported model where you will be able to show an ad a small percentage of the time or you could let an advertiser sponsor a specific type of story. So a sports brand could sponsor your “sport” story and when people scroll down it will say “sponsored by sports brand X”

We asked Kim what he and the team had planned for the future of Simplereach and this is what he had to say:

We’re going to keep innovating at this intersection of content and advertising where we think we can create the most value.  The Slide is one of our products, but we’re also really excited about what we’ll be able to do with LinkCurrent.co in the near future.
