If you thought North Korea was disturbing, then you’re about to find out that they can always get a little bit more disturbing than before. According to official police documents, the rumors about people in Korea being so hungry that they are resorting to Cannibalism, are true. At least one person has been eaten by a Korean family.
According to the Korean Herald, “a male guard who could not bear his hunger killed his colleague using an ax, ate some of the human flesh and sold the remainder in the market by disguising it as mutton,” the report said, without giving any further details such as when the alleged crime occurred.
There are currently five reported cases of people who have resorted to cannibalism in order to survive. Now, this isn’t a full out crisis since only some people are doing it instead of everyone in the country, but regardless this is beyond what I would call “normal” I wonder who bought the meat from the market? those poor people had no idea what they were eating.
Guess who’s coming to the rescue? the US of A is of course! this hasn’t been confirmed, but based on previous experiences, Washington is likely to recommend that food assistance is necessary for certain regions in the North where food is in particularly short supply. So this is really only a matter of time before we start seeing the signs outside of Wal Mart that say ‘help us feed North Korea”
After hearing about the news, I think I added Just another reason why I don’t want to ever travel to North Korea, is not like I would be much food for anyone anyways, I can probably feed about 11 people or so, how about you?
